Missing Assignments

In today’s digital age, the CBE no longer prints Report Cards and families are expected to check PowerSchool regularly to access achievement scores and feedback on assignments or to determine if there are missing assignments.  If this is something that requires assistance from staff, please do not hesitate to reach out so we are able to provide that support.

Provincial Achievement Test Prep

For the last couple of years, WDP has accessed online supports for purchase through a company called Castle Rock.  They market student guides for Provincial tests at grades 6 and 9 in addition to Diploma exam support.  If you would like to view hard copies of the booklets, Indigo may still sell them.  We do not have current pricing but will offer information and online ordering of resource materials coming this week.

Social Media

In an age of rapid communication through digital platforms, sometimes unkind things are said online in the heat of a moment or through the anonymity offered by not having to face the other person. We appreciate your ongoing support in reviewing responsible online citizenship with your students and strategies for avoiding online conflict.

Halloween Fun

We hope everyone had a great time on Halloween. Thanks to Mr. Auer who used Council purchased DJ equipment to save the school many dollars on a DJ.  Songs were selected from Spotify choosing “clean” versions of popular songs.  Leadership students, Ms. Stone, and Ms. Truss organized carnival games and activities. A Drawlloween contest, sponsored by Ms. Fillmore was also a fun event.  Prizes and healthy snacks were all supported by Council. We so very much appreciate our Council!!!

Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend

Please remember that this weekend, daylight savings ends and our start time of 8 am looks more like 7 am.  We look forward to seeing everyone at school on time for 8 am.

For those who celebrate: Hope you had a Happy Diwali and Day of the Dead.
