Lost and Found
Misplaced items are stored in bins throughout the school. Personal articles such as eyeglasses, keys and chains are kept at the office. Should students misplace an item they are encouraged to immediately check the lost and found or the office to see if the item has been turned in or found. Lost and Found items will be displayed during parent-teacher conferences. Anything left after parent teacher interviews will be donated to charity.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
In this technological age we find almost all our students have cell phones, tablets, and/or laptops. With teacher permission, students are allowed to use personal devices in class to support their learning. However, students should refrain from engaging in distracting activities such as texting, playing games or using social media during class time. If students are continually found engaging in these activities during class time, they will no longer be permitted to have their device in the classroom.
Should parents/guardians or students need to contact each other during school hours, students need to come to the office to use a school phone. Parents/guardians are asked to refrain from calling or texting their child during school hours.
Students who are found using personal electronic devices during class time without permission or engaging in inappropriate activities will be asked to surrender it to the teacher until the end of the class/day. Confiscated devices will be and stored safely and returned to the student at a prearranged time between the student and the staff member. Should inappropriate use occur repeatedly, parents/guardians will be contacted and the device will be returned through parents/guardians. The school reserves the right to prohibit a student to have a personal device during class hours if persistent, inappropriate use occurs.
