UPDATE - 10:45am, June 1, 2026
Good Morning,
After consultation with the Calgary Track Council and an inspection of the facility earlier today, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's track meet (June 2).
Unfortunately, the track conditions are not safe for competition. There is significant flooding and pooling water on the track, and with the ongoing poor weather conditions, we do not anticipate sufficient improvement before tomorrow's meet.
We wanted to make this decision today so that schools have as much notice as possible and can communicate with athletes and families accordingly.
We recognize that this is both frustrating and disappointing. At this time, there are no plans to reschedule the meet due to limited facility availability and scheduling constraints.
Thank you for your understanding,
Jenn Wishart
CMLSAA Track Co-Chair

William D. Pratt's CMLSAA Division C Track & Field Meet will be on June 2, 2026 at the Foothills Athletic Park, located at 2431 Crowchild Trail NW. It is scheduled to run from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER, THERE IS NO AVAILABLE DATE TO RESCHEDULE. This decision will be made by the City of Calgary which runs Foothills Athletic Park and the Calgary Middle Level Schools Athletic Association on the morning of June 2, 2026
Here are links to the most up-to-date WDP Track & Field Athlete Assignments, Event Schedule and maps of Foothills Athletic Park.
Age categories are as follows:
- GRADE 6 = Junior Varsity
- GRADE 7 = Junior
- GRADE 8 = Intermediate
- GRADE 9 = Senior
Events may run early. It is recommended that athletes arrive with enough time to warm up properly. All student-athletes should check in at the WDP tents upon arrival and before departing Foothills Athletic Park for the day.
We are able to enter 3 male & 3 female athletes into each event. Each individual athlete is able to enter 3 events, not including relays.
In cases where we did not have enough athletes trying out or had an athlete in more that 3 seperate events, we took the liberty of adding eligible athletes into other events. This allows us to obtain a spot for a substitute to use. If we only entered 1 or 2 students into an event, we would simply lose the spot and no substitutes would be permitted on the day of the event.
In each event, points are awared on the following basis:
- 1st Place = 10 Points
- 2nd Place = 8 Points
- 3rd Place = 6 Points
- 4th Place = 5 Points
- 5th Place = 4 Points
- 6th Place = 3 Points
- 7th Place = 2 Points
- 8th Place = 1 Point
Points are then tabulated at the conclusion of the meet, and each school competes for the CMLSAA Division Championship in multiple categories:
- Senior Boys
- Senior Girls
- Intermediate Boys
- Intermediate Girls
- Junior Boys
- Junior Girls
- Junior Varsity Boys
- Junior Varsity Girls
- Senior Agreggate (Boys & Girls point totals combined)
- Intermediate Aggregate
- Junior Aggregate
- Junior Varsity Aggregate
- Boys Aggregate (Senior, Intermediate, Junior & Junior Varsity points combined)
- Girls Aggregate
- Grand Aggregate (All points combined)

Parents who are interested in becoming a volunteer coach for one of our school's teams should reach out to Mr. Howat (djhowat@cbe.ab.ca) to discuss this opportunity further. Applicants will be asked to complete the CBE's Annual Volunteer Registration form and provide a valid Police Information Check prior to the beginning of the season. Please note that this is a multi-step process that must be completed in order for clearance to be activated:
- Complete the CBE Annual Volunteer Registration form.
- Come to the WDP Main Office with government issued ID.
- Receive a letter from the Main Office Staff, addressed to CPS, that states that you would like to volunteer at WDP. This letter will not be generated until the ID provided has been verified by the Main Office staff.
- Use this letter to complete the ePic online (Note: Volunteer Clearances now cost $21.25 each – WDP cannot reimburse)
- Once the clearance from CPS has been provided, please provide a copy to the WDP office staff.
