September 9 to September 13, 2024 

This past week at Pratt has been busy as students settled into their routines. This coming week we have a planned Fire Drill for all students and a Cyber Safety presentation for grades 5 and 6 on September 10.  

Traffic Safety 

With over 900 students this year, the streets surrounding Pratt are busy before school and after dismissal. You can help by encouraging your students to walk rather than driving them, crossing at marked crosswalks, and avoiding parking in the bus zone or parking lot. It takes all of us to help keep our students safe!  

Indigo Fundraiser 

William D. Pratt School is excited to announce that our partnership with the Indigo bookstore at Dalhousie begins on September 13th. We encourage families to stop by the school's table display of student art and student-liked books set up in the store. Details on the partnership and how families can be involved are available at the store, located at 5005 Dalhousie Drive NW (in the Dalhousie Station shopping center, across from Safeway). 

Terry Fox Run 

Pratt students and staff will participate in the Terry Fox fun on September 20. Encourage your students to dress for the weather. Pledge sheets were sent home today and need to be returned by September 26. Alternately, pledges can be made online https://terryfoxschoolrun.org/   Historically Pratt has been a leader in fundraising for the Terry Fox run, this year our goal is $7000.  

Athletics 

Soccer and Cross Country are well underway, and Basketball starts Monday. The full list of tryouts and practices can be found on our athletics page. Go Mavs!  

School Council  

Please mark your calendar for our first school council meeting which will take place on September 18 @ 6:00 pm. Don’t have the ability to attend in person?  No worries – watch for a Microsoft Teams link to be shared closer to the meeting date.
