Hello Willliam D. Pratt community. My name is Alena Black, and I am honoured to be joining the Mavericks community as an Assistant Principal. I have been with the Calgary Board of Education since 2017, spending the past five years as a Learning Leader, most recently at Annie Gale School. Born and raised in Calgary, I am passionate about giving back to the community that raised me through education. My time as an educator has given me an appreciation for collaboratively working with diverse learners and families to ensure students feel seen, safe, and welcome each day. I look forward to getting to know each of you more as we embark on the new school year together.  

Hello Parents, I’m excited to introduce myself as the new assistant principal here at William D Pratt School. My name is Heather Perkins, and I’m thrilled to be joining this fantastic community. I have had the pleasure of teaching for 14 years and spent the past five years as an assistant principal in a neighbouring school district. I've had the pleasure of working with both elementary and junior high students. Born and raised in Calgary, I have a deep connection to this city and its educational values.
