Hello Pratt families 

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year. We are very excited to welcome our new and returning students for a great year of learning.  

Teachers and staff have been working hard over the past three days to organize and prepare for the first day of school, Tuesday September 2, 2025. Communication from homeroom teachers went out yesterday to welcome students to their classes and provide directions as to where to meet on this first morning. Student homeroom information can also be found on PowerSchool, making sure you toggle to 2025-26.  

Device Policy 

Please find attached information regarding our Admirable Use Policy (formerly: Digital Citizenship Policy). You will note that we have updated our Admirable Use Policy with regards to cellphones and personal devices at school. Students will be asked to put their cellphones and personal devices in their lockers for the day when on school property, including before school, during nutrition and lunch, and after school. This update reflects our commitment to student well-being and a greater alignment with Alberta Education’s direction on cellphones and personal devices during the school day.

Class Placement 

Class placements for homeroom and complementary courses have been thoughtfully created with student, parent, and teacher feedback to ensure positive learning experiences for all students. We will not be making class changes at this time.  

School Drop Off 

School starts each day at 8am, with doors opening at 7:45am to allow students time to get organized. Our school buses will be dropping off/picking up northbound on Royal Birkdale Drive NW this year with students entering the school through a variety of open doors. We appreciate families leaving these bus zones clear for our buses. 

Staff will be outside on September 2 from 7:45am to 8am with classroom information to guide students to their homerooms. Students arriving after 8am are asked to come to the office.  

We look forward to welcoming students on Tuesday and working together to support a fantastic year of learning.
